Ride the great divide

in preparation for documenting my ride the great divide I'll need to introduce you to some of my previous adventures as I have learned a lot from them and will refer to them from time to time

I name my adventures as ill iterations. The first I called Border to Border. I rode a bicycle from Kanab Utah to Fanklin Idaho. It was approx 430 miles I took emergency tent and sleeping bag but I end up staying with family or motels each night. It took me 5 travel days plus one rest day and one snow day where I sat idle.

The night before my daughter Arielle and her Husband ate at a restaurant.  I was feeling steak so we found a steak place.  My son in law went in to use the restroom and he simply said you need to go check out the restroom.

I went in there and on the wall facing the toilet was a wall sized mirror that had been taken down from a bar and placed there for storage.  Let me just suggest that no one wants to see them selves using the bathroom that up close and personal.  I'll add the business name when I get a chance, but it was just a great paradox with a nice restaurant and the freak show bathroom.

I rode the first mile the evening before because of road construction and didn't want to have to fight it early on the ride.  The one sad note was in taking a picture of the mile post I ended up having porta potties in the picture because there was a business right there.

As I headed out about 6 am I stopped at Macdonald's to get a breakfast sandwich.  I requested a ham and egg sandwich.  I was rather rudely informed that they only had Canadian bacon.  Picky people.

I rode perhaps three miles out of town and my hands were getting cold.  I paused to grab my gloves to cover my fingers and was on my way.

Help to support my adventures by purchasing my Illustrated Children's book "Monsters 'n Such"
